Job summary

Rishton Blackburn, BB1 is seeking a motivated and practical Laboratory Technician Apprentice to join the laboratory team. This role offers a chance to earn while you learn, developing hands-on laboratory skills while working towards a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship.

You will support day-to-day lab work, assist with testing, prepare samples and maintain a clean, safe working environment. Training is provided, with on-the-job and off-the-job learning, and no prior laboratory

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths, English, and a science subject at grade 4-9 or equivalent.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Ability to work unsupervised following a planned work schedule.
• Good writing and numeracy skills.
• Familiarity with computers and typing.

Because of the technical experience you will gain from working in a laboratory, you will gain skills which many graduates have yet to develop. If you have practical ability, ability to solve problems and good communication skills there are opportunities for progression towards higher qualifications.

About the role

As a Laboratory Technician Apprentice, you will support the day‑to‑day work of the laboratory, assisting with testing, preparing samples and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. You will be trained and supported throughout the apprenticeship.
