Job Description:

Laboratory Technician (Rotational shift) - Almac Pharma Services

CPL has partnered with the ALMAC Group to recruit a Laboratory Technician for a temporary, ongoing contract.

Pay Rate: £13.72 plus 16.7% shift allowance for Early and Evening shifts.

Location: ALMAC Global Headquarters, Craigavon

Benefits: 34 days holiday per year

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Shift: Early shift

Overall Role Objective:

The Laboratory Technician will perform tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures and ALCOA+ principles, including housekeeping, calibration & maintenance of laboratory equipment, monitoring & maintaining stock levels, and supporting operational needs.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

The post holder will:

  1. Maintain high standards of housekeeping, including cleaning and waste management.
  2. Manage calibration & maintenance of laboratory equipment (e.g., pH meters, balances).
  3. Monitor and maintain stock levels of consumables, chemicals, and reagents; receive goods/services.
  4. Support operational requirements such as conducting physical tests, inspecting packaging components, performing finished goods inspections, sampling raw materials, and managing lab data and documentation.
  5. Perform additional tasks as directed by the Lab Coordinator, Technical Leader, or Team Leader.

This role may require shift work beyond normal hours. Ability to fulfill this requirement is essential.

Essential Requirements:

  • GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Previous relevant work experience.
  • Methodical approach to managing multiple tasks with high accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills.
