Job description

Reporting to the Principal Scientist-Inorganic Chemistry, you will be an integral part of the Inorganic Chemistry team that ensures delivery of operational excellence whilst maintaining continual compliance with the ISO17025 and Drinking Water Testing Specifications (DWTS) standards

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Analysis of water samples for manual testing as well as some instrumental testing
  • Laboratory daily checks required for the Quality System
  • Some involvement in consumables stock control and consumable replenishment
  • Cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment
  • Laboratory housekeeping
  • Sample preparation
  • Participation in internal and external training courses identified as appropriate to your continued development.
  • Maintaining basic CPD records to comply with the minimum requirements of competent analyst 1-9.
  • Always Complying with all relevant Health and Safety procedures.
  • Active involvement in driving innovation and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Good standard of education; minimum GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics, English & Science
  • Attention to detail and enjoy working in a routine environment.
  • Able tofollow strict procedures time after time without deviation
  • Positive attitude to health, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Reasonable level of computer literacy and good written communication
