Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the QC team in preparing reagents, setting up equipment, sampling raw materials, and handling packaging and shipping of samples.
  2. Perform cleaning, waste management, routine self-inspections, stock control, support re-order systems, and communicate with key suppliers.
  3. Conduct basic laboratory tests including pH, conductivity, osmolality, Total Organic Carbon content, and microbiological techniques.
  4. Follow standard operating procedures and document laboratory results in compliance with cGMP and company policies.
  5. Maintain and enhance knowledge of analytical techniques.
  6. Ensure personal training status complies with matrix requirements.
  7. Contribute to team building, training, and problem-solving initiatives both internally and across sites.
  8. Conduct all laboratory activities in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines, including COSHH, Biological Safety Regulations, and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  9. Uphold company values: be reliable, caring, transparent, and willing.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Passion for science with an enthusiastic approach and interest in developing bioanalytical methods.
  • Previous laboratory experience is desirable but not essential.
  • A degree in a relevant biological or biochemistry subject is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, flexible, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • Competent with IT systems, especially Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
