About the Role

As Laboratory Technician, you will perform high-standard technical laboratory work in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations. The Environmental team at our Flotta, Orkney laboratory, will assist with nominated ecotoxicology and environmental fate studies, ensuring laboratory equipment, systems, and infrastructure are well-maintained. You will work collaboratively with other laboratory staff, contribute to technical practice improvements, and support method development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory work and general tasks as directed by the Environmental Senior Study Director
  • Assist with nominated ecotoxicology and environmental fate studies
  • Ensure all laboratory duties comply with GLP regulations
  • Maintain laboratory facilities to GLP standards
  • Participate in maintenance and repairs of laboratory equipment and infrastructure
  • Ensure timely calibration and upkeep of laboratory equipment
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of equipment, materials, and consumables
  • Contribute to the improvement of technical practices and method development
  • Assist with field work and other support areas as required
  • Uphold a high standard of professionalism when representing NOV
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Comply with all HSE legislation and company policies
  • Adhere to all department and company procedures and processes
  • Support other departments and perform additional duties as needed

Qualifications & Skills
