Overview-Laboratory Technician

My client is a global leader in the manufacturing industry and I am seeking a meticulous and dedicatedLaboratory Technicianto join the dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting scientific research and ensuring compliance. This position requires a strong foundation in laboratory practices, quality control, and the ability to analyse data effectively.

Role Description - Laboratory Technician

This is a full-time on-site role for aLaboratory Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting quality control tests, utilizing analytical and laboratory skills, operating laboratory equipment, and performing various tasks related to laboratory procedures.

You will also be expected to produce technical data according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintain all equipment and instrumentation, and preparing samples for testing. They will report outcomes effectively and communicate/interact with all business functions.

Salary Range £28,000 - £31,000 (dependant on experience) Mon-Fri (3 shifts 6-2/2-10 & 10-6 nights)

Qualification:No formal qualifications but GCSE A-C in Maths and Science is desirable

Responsibilities - Laboratory Technician

  • Performing laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data to support Quality Assurance and New Product Development
  • Carrying out routine tasks accurately and precisely
  • Preparing specimens and samples; assembling, maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment
  • Ensuring the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced
  • Recording and interpreting results to present to senior colleagues, when required
  • Using computers and performing simple mathematical calculations
  • Keeping up to date with technical developments
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards
  • To work safely 100% of the time
  • To ensure that all assigned work is delivered in a timely manner
  • To communicate we with both internal and external customers
