Overview

Alfred H Knight is currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our team at our Villiers Road Laboratory in Prescot. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a leading global provider of independent testing services.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing a range of analytical methods and standard operating procedures independently, delivering high levels of precision and accuracy. Your work will contribute to the timely and reliable analysis of various sample types and commodities, supporting our commitment to quality and efficiency.

The Villiers Road Laboratory, a subsidiary testing centre under AHK UK Head quarter laboratory, specialises in rapid and accurate testing of copper across multiple commodities using a variety of analytical techniques.

Responsibilities

• To ensure full compliance with the company’s ISO 17025 and ISO 14001 certifications.
• Ensuring at all times that a high degree of accuracy and precision is applied to methods and procedures through incorporating and promoting good laboratory practice principles.
• Responsible for ensuring that work throughout is followed in accordance with documented methods, procedures and timescales.
• Reporting recurring issues related to training and development objectives to the Laboratory Manager, as they arise during the routine execution of analytical methods, procedures, and standard operating practices.
• Maintaining records and laboratory data in agreement with the Lab Manager so that work is clear, easily auditable and traceable.
• Processing analytical data unsupervised in preparation of results being checked and authorised prior to reporting.

• Academic qualification: GCSE’S in Maths, English and Science Grade C (or numerical equivalent) or above preferred.

Travel

• Travel to group headquarters may be occasionally required to participate in mandatory training courses.
