Laboratory Technician – GBP30,000+ (DOE) – Monday to Friday – Dudley, West Midlands

The client

Our client is a renowned precision engineering firm, with an enviable reputation for manufacturing to the highest levels of quality and reliability. Situated near Dudley, West Midlands, our client supplies an impressively wide customer base covering the heavy industrial, marine and energy sectors. They are seeking a skilled laboratory technician to join their established Technical Department.

This is a unique opportunity for those with a strong technical or engineering background to specialize and rigorously develop their skills in quality testing and analysis.

What you\'ll be doing
  • Receiving, processing and preparing metallic test samples
  • Preparing samples, ensuring they are appropriately conditioned for laboratory testing
  • Undertaking metallurgic testing and analysis (e.g. tensile strength) in line with customer requirements
  • Generating accurate and comprehensive laboratory reports
  • Managing an organized & prioritized workload, ensuring customer deadlines are met
  • Maintaining a functional, organized and safe workspace, adhering to Health and Safety standards at all times
  • Being vigilant to potential risk factors, ensuring these are appropriately escalated
  • Ensuring all laboratory activities and procedures are in line with ISO 17025 accreditation standards
About you
  • A minimum of two years\' experience within a similar role
  • Knowledge of metallurgy (highly desirable)
  • Solid understanding of / experience working to ISO 17025 standards (desirable)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Package
