Job Description

Are you looking to gain experience in an Analytical Laboratory? Are you a graduate of Chemistry or an experienced Lab Technician?

A leading provider of analytical testing and environmental services is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their environmental testing lab in Didcot, Oxfordshire, on a temporary to permanent basis. This role is ideal for Chemistry graduates or those with prior lab experience. Immediate availability is required due to the urgency of the role. The position involves occasional driving to client sites to collect samples, so a full clean driving license and First Aid at Work qualification are essential.

Role Overview

  • Receipt and analysis of samples using various analytical techniques.
  • Conducting all work in accordance with relevant regulations and standards such as UKAS ISO17025 and GLP.
  • Occasional driving to client sites for sample collection, a few times per quarter.
  • Temporary to permanent, full-time role, Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week (Monday-Thursday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Friday 7:00 am - 2:00 pm).
  • Salary: £12.50 per hour.

Requirements

  • A degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline is highly beneficial but not essential if you have equivalent lab-based experience.
  • Experience in analytical chemistry, especially with environmental samples, is advantageous.
  • Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, strong communication skills, and an appreciation for quality and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Immediate availability and proximity to Didcot for commuting.
  • Full clean driving license and First Aid at Work qualification are essential.
