Overview

Division/Department: CUG Academic, CUG School of Engineering and IT

Salary: Competitive starting salary range from £26,476 up to £33,470 (dependent on experience) with the potential to progress. A discretionary range for candidates with exceptional experience can be discussed/considered.

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

The Role

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our growing School of Engineering and IT (SEIT) at CU Coventry. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across a range of engineering and digital technology programmes.

Working under the guidance of the Senior Technician, you will:

  • Provide technical support to staff and students.
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and software.
  • Ensure a safe and effective learning environment.

This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a practical mind-set, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for supporting innovation in education.

Our Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and passionate about technical education, with a working knowledge of a range of Engineering and IT disciplines, software, hardware and programming language. Demonstrating a practical hands-on aptitude with a solid understanding of safe working practices and risk management. Able to remain calm while applying logical problem solving and troubleshooting skills in a dynamic environment. Possess excellent communication abilities and engage confidently with both students and staff. A commitment to delivering a positive and supportive student experience is key.
