Job description

Laboratory Technician – Food Manufacturing

Bedford | £28,289 | Mon-Fri, rotating shifts (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm)
Permanent | 37.5 hours per week

Are you a detail-oriented Lab Technician with a background in food or industrial manufacturing? We’re recruiting for a hands-on Laboratory Technician to join a well-established and growing manufacturer of gluten-free food products.

This role is based primarily at their Bedford site, with occasional travel to other UK sites. Comprehensive training is provided, along with excellent benefits including private healthcare, 6% matched pension, and 25 days holiday + bank holidays.

What you’ll be doing:
  1. Daily testing of raw materials and finished products against set standards
  2. Managing non-conforming products and supporting internal investigations
  3. Recording and updating results in the LIMS and stock control systems
  4. Generating Certificates of Analysis and managing product specifications
  5. Maintaining lab hygiene and equipment calibration
  6. Supporting quality and complaint investigations, and participating in site meetings
What we’re looking for:
  1. Previous experience in a lab role, ideally within food or manufacturing
  2. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, compliance-focused environment
  3. Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
  4. Confident with documentation and data entry

Hours: 37.5 hrs/week, rotating shifts (6am–2pm & 2pm–10pm)

Pension: 6% employer matched
