Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform standard lab support activities across multiple sites. The role focuses on stock and waste management, equipment support, and daily lab tasks, all performed within defined SOPs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths or equivalent required.
• Experience in customer service helpful; training provided for pharmaceutical/laboratory context.
• Good communication and IT skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard lab support activities per defined scope of work and timelines.
• Maintain lab cleanliness, check equipment performance, and handle glassware washing.
• Manage waste streams with proper documentation and labelling.
• Use inventory systems to ensure lab chemicals and consumables are available across labs.
• Coordinate with the buying team to source ad-hoc supplies.
• Provide high level of customer service to science teams; support colleagues as needed.
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and promote safety culture.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements.
