Salary: $18-$23 per hour, depending on experience

Delavie Sciences, LLC is currently looking for a Laboratory Production Microbiologist Assistant to join its laboratory located in Worcester, MA. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with excellent communication and troubleshooting skills. A strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and a team-oriented mentality are essential.

The successful candidate will assist a small team of scientists in preparing and executing various processing protocols for manufacturing different products. Responsibilities include preparing supplies, performing standard operating procedures, and supporting senior scientists in conducting assays as needed. Candidates should have an AS or BS in a life science discipline and experience or willingness to learn to operate laboratory equipment such as spectrophotometers, centrifuges, lyophilizers, autoclaves, and pH meters.

Basic Qualifications

  • AS or BS in Life Sciences (e.g., Biochemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, Molecular Biology)
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Must pass a background check and drug test prior to hire
  • Motivated to learn new techniques and processes
  • Independent, self-directed, capable of performing repetitive processing techniques

The following qualifications will enhance your application:

  • Experience with antimicrobial testing, serial dilutions, MPN enumeration, plate counts, and media preparation
  • Proper technique and experience working in a BSL2 laboratory setting
  • Proficiency with programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab, R, and GraphPad
