We’re looking for a Laboratory Manager Specialist to join our dynamic Materials Test & Analysis team—a key player in testing and analyzing polymers, masterbatches, decoration inks, and powders that drive innovation across industries!

Core Responsibilities
Your overall responsibility will be maintaining and developing the quality system within the Materials Laboratory. This role is critical for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, facilitating innovation, and supporting continuous improvement in materials testing processes.
You will be responsible for:
• Quality system governance: Maintain and develop quality standards and processes to ensure standards and compliance in laboratory activities.
• Continuous improvements: Identify and implement novel ways of working while continuously improving the level of service and efficiency.
• Participate in development of a system for monitoring performance of methods and equipment to identify and implement improvements in collaboration with method owners and super users.
• Support in procurement and qualification of equipment, accessories, services, etc. to maintain laboratory capabilities.
• Support in validation of test methods.

In this specialist role you will be part a team consisting of highly skilled laboratory technicians and laboratory interns collaborating closely with the specialists in the R&D Laboratory team.
You will become a part of the Materials Department that is responsible for polymers, masterbatches, decoration inks and powders for additive manufacturing.
Materials are at the core of LEGO products and the aim of the department is to develop and maintain a safe, high-quality and sustainable material platform to enable business needs and empower the organization to use materials to its full potential.

Do you have what it takes
The ideal candidate has an education in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Materials or Chemical Engineering combined with experience within quality control, analytical laboratories or similar.
• Experience from working as a specialist in a laboratory environment
• Proficiency in using statistical methods in a laboratory setting to analyze data and validate findings and experience with hypothesis testing and experimental design.
• Experience in developing and maintaining a laboratory quality system and associated processes
• Proven experience in analysing laboratory data and using the data to improve methods and systems
• Systematic and structured approach to problem solving, e.g. when working with laboratory workflows, equipment maintenance, quality assurance
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills You are curious and have a keen interest in sharing knowledge with your colleagues and other departments.
• Ideally you have experience on testing mechanical properties, colours and/or using analytical methods such as IR, DSC, TGA, DMA, rheology, or microscopy
• Great teammate that is motivated by playing an active role in developing your colleagues.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal
The position is based in London, UK and relocation support is not offered for this role.
