About

We are working with an established manufacturing company in Grimsby to recruit a Laboratory Manager.

Purpose Of The Laboratory Manager Position

The main purpose of this role is to oversee the laboratory operations to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of information to the Technical and Operations Departments.

Responsibilities for the Laboratory Manager will include but are not limited to:

  1. Ensuring that all test methods are conducted in compliance with international standards or approved documented procedures.
  2. Ensuring that all laboratory reports are accurately completed and distributed within the appropriate timeframe.
  3. Managing and monitoring all laboratory test data within the WinSPC database and notifying relevant staff of any concerning trends.
  4. Manage daily laboratory operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
  5. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of laboratory information management systems to streamline data management.
  6. Supervise laboratory personnel, providing guidance and support for professional development.
  7. Ensure there is appropriate training in place for all staff.
  8. Ensuring all departmental procedures and work instructions are maintained and updated as needed.
  9. Assisting various company departments in investigating, reporting, and resolving corrective actions, improvement notices, incident reports, and audit findings as appropriate.

The Perfect Laboratory Manager Will Be

  1. Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  2. Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
  3. Comfortable working with cross-functional teams at all levels.

Qualifications For The Perfect Laboratory Manager

  1. Degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Materials, or Engineering.
