Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Laboratory Technician - Labstock to support day-to-day lab operations and inventory management at our Cambridge Discovery Centre. You will handle materials, ensure availability of chemicals and consumables, and assist with deliveries and waste management in a structured, safety-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a laboratory or similar environment.
• Basic knowledge of chemical handling or inventory systems (preferred).
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support daily laboratory operations through effective material and stock management.
• Manage inventory and ensure availability of chemicals and consumables.
• Handle deliveries, including temperature-sensitive materials.
• Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and ensure proper stock rotation.
• Support safe waste management processes.
• Maintain clean, organised lab and storage areas.
• Collaborate with lab teams to respond to operational needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
