Job Title: Interim Laboratory Coordinator

We are currently seeking an interim Laboratory Coordinator to work with our global FMCG client, Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple. This role offers an opportunity to become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

Location and Duration: The position is based at Unilever's scientific Research & Development facility in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral. It is a full-time, temporary role for 12 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The compensation is competitive, up to £30,000 per annum, pro-rata, depending on experience.

Role Overview:

The role involves coordination and preparation of fragrance evaluations on behalf of the HC Fragrance Team, ensuring standard and safe operating practices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coordination: Collaborate with fragrance experts to plan fragrance evaluation requirements, book necessary facilities, prepare test materials, and manage sample logistics. Maintain stock levels and update product and oil libraries, representing the team in meetings and managing visitor bookings.
2. Preparation: Complete Job Sheets, ensure test samples are on-site and logged, and prepare fabrics and samples according to protocols, including weighing, labelling, and water preparation.
3. Testing and Assessment: Perform machine and hand washes following protocols, prepare cloths, and manage recovery and re-use of ballast loads, while maintaining records.
4. Safety and Compliance: Create and maintain SOPs and Risk Assessments, report safety issues, and ensure proper handling and disposal of samples and products.
5. Minimum Requirements: Awareness of safety procedures, ability to work in a team, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
