Job description

Job Title: Laboratory Assistant at Settle Creamery

As a Laboratory Assistant at Settle Creamery, you will play a key role in transforming raw milk into high-quality products, ensuring manufacturing standards, safety, and continual process development.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct tests to analyze utility samples, perform positive release testing for products, and carry out environmental swabbing and basic microbiology tests.
  2. Maintain accurate records using designated quality control tools and software, and communicate results to relevant departments.
  3. Ensure laboratory instruments are functioning correctly, calibrated, and verified methods are used.
  4. Coach colleagues and participate in internal GMP audits as part of the site auditing team.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A strong sense of professional integrity and passion for high-quality work.
  • Attention to detail to ensure 100% accuracy in recording data.
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external teams.
  • Laboratory experience is beneficial but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Experience in the food industry and food safety knowledge is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
