Laboratory Assistant

Location: Wokingham

Contract: 6-month temporary contract

Hours: 36 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm)

Are you ready to kick-start your career in a scientific environment? We are looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join the team at Reading Scientific Services, a part of Mondelēz International. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to a world-renowned company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sample Administration: Administer samples for scientific analysis by creating records, assigning tests, and allocating samples to the correct analysts.
  • Data Management: Input test results and maintain accurate records of all scientific data.
  • Client Liaison: Act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring all work is completed on time and providing timely, accurate results.
  • Quality & Safety: Maintain the highest standards of lab safety and quality. This includes routine checks, calibrations, and keeping the work environment clean and tidy.
  • Document Control: Manage and update control documentation to ensure analysts are always using the most current versions.

What We're Looking For:

  • A background in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Experience in a scientific environment is a bonus, but not essential.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and other specific software packages.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written instructions precisely.
