With a track record of innovation and development, Abbott’s Diabetes Care business designs, develops and manufactures leading-edge glucose monitoring systems, for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Global Centre of Excellence for Medical Devices based in Witney, Oxfordshire. The site manufactures significant volumes of test strips annually and has also been instrumental in the research, development and manufacture of the next generation FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System, launched in September 2014.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Analyst to join our Testing and Analytical Team in the role of Laboratory Analyst I at our Witney site in West Oxfordshire. In this role you will conduct analytical testing of finished goods and in-process samples in a GMP environment.

To be successful, you will have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with a preference for those with a degree in the chemical sciences. Previous work experience of analytical chemistry methods is advantageous but not essential. The ideal candidate will have a basic knowledge of general technical concepts and practices and a general understanding of product or systems fundamentals in a laboratory environment and will perform this job in a quality system environment. You should have excellent attention to detail skills, a logical and methodical approach to problem solving, the ability to prioritise workload as required by your supervisor with the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances or new demands. You enjoy working in a cross-functional team, being able to collaborate with colleagues in R&D, QA and Operations.
