Overview

Forensic Testing Service was founded in 2009 with the sole aim of helping improve the outcomes of childcare proceedings in the family court system.

We are the first testing service in the UK to adopt a model of best practice that combines detailed forensic analysis with substance abuse test results.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Lab Analyst to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • To efficiently process samples for analytical testing using LC-MS/MS and GC-MS, working in line with FTS procedures and the ISO17025 Standard.
  • Ensure equipment is sufficiently maintained.
  • To process analytical data from LC-MS/MS instrumentation to provide accurate and reliable results to the technical support and report writing teams.
  • To enter data into a bespoke laboratory software system at the laboratory result stage of the analytical process.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Educated to degree level (science), or have relevant experience
  • Good Laboratory Practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of conventional IT software e.g. Microsoft Office
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Chemistry, Forensic Science or Toxicology Degree
  • 12 months experience in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory
  • Knowledge and experience of using LC-MS/MS
