Laboratory Analyst

Job Type: Temporary Fixed Term 14 months

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to deliver efficient, high-quality food allergen and authenticity analysis using ELISA and DNA-based methodologies (PCR). The role holder is required to perform all activities in accordance with ISO17025 requirements.

Responsibilities

1. Complete tests according to established procedures.
2. Accurately follow laboratory protocols and SOPs for sample preparation, internal calibrations, and routine analysis by ELISA and PCR.
3. Ensure tests are completed successfully within the specified turnaround time.
4. Maintain laboratory housekeeping in accordance with ISO17025 standards.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience in:

• Working with PCR, ELISA, and LCMS/MS techniques.
• Working within a UKAS-accredited laboratory as a Lab Technician.
• Using MS packages, ideally LIMS.

Additionally, candidates should possess:

• A degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related science field, or equivalent qualification.
