Job summary

Kelvion is seeking a laboratory/test technician to support product testing for heat exchanger design in High Tech and Green Tech applications. You will work with data centres, heat pump manufacturers, and hydrogen fuel cell producers, contributing to projects across a global team.

Responsibilities include running tests, recording data, supporting calibrations, and upholding health, safety and quality standards, while continuously improving lab processes.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience as a technician.
• Experience in a laboratory or product testing environment with a methodical approach and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills; able to work effectively under guidance while managing multiple tasks.
• Good knowledge of MS Office; familiarity with laboratory management software is beneficial.
• Experience with heat exchanger or HVAC testing, test equipment, or Lean/Six Sigma and continuous improvement would be an advantage.
• Safety-conscious, hands-on and willing to learn and adapt to new technologies and testing methods.
• Good command of English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up and operate laboratory equipment and test rigs, carrying out product tests according to defined test plans and procedures.
• Accurately record test data, results and observations, identify deviations, and support basic troubleshooting with engineers and senior technicians.
• Perform routine equipment checks and support calibration activities to ensure testing equipment remains in good working condition.
• Follow all Health & Safety, environmental and regulatory requirements, supporting risk assessments and safe working procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering, development and quality teams by providing test data and supporting information for ongoing projects.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and 5S activities, helping maintain a safe, clean, organised and efficient laboratory environment.
