Purolite is seeking a Lab Technician RD&E for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The role involves conducting specialized analyses on samples from overseas production, Technical Services, and Research and Development Laboratories. The candidate should be familiar with various analytical techniques used within Purolite.
Requirements
Knowledge of chemical and analytical techniques and instrumentation. Degree qualification in chemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related field (or equivalent). Experience in an analytical environment, preferably related to ion exchange resin techniques. Ability to develop new analysis and application methods. Responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze, interpret, and report results for products from Production, R&D, and Technical Services, following set test methods with attention to detail (e.g., titrations, particle size analysis, SEM, microscopy, UV/Vis, FT-IR). Extend skills beyond basic QC testing to include porosity, surface area, GC/HPLC, atomic absorption, etc. Attend training to enhance knowledge of analytical techniques. Calibrate instruments as needed. Conduct environmental testing when required. Develop new methods using literature research. Maintain Health and Safety standards, including COSHH, SDS, and risk assessments. Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
