Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Scunthorpe to perform testing and data entry to ensure cementitious materials meet BS EN standards. You will work on mortars and cement analysis, input data into LIMS, and support a team on a testing rota.

The role requires attention to detail, good communication, and a strong safety mindset, with on‑the‑job training provided and opportunities to grow within the technical team.

Qualifications

• Experience or understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental compliance.
• Familiarity with Risk Assessments, Operating Procedures, COSHH.
• GCSEs in Maths, Science, English; A level are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out physical testing on mortars and chemical analysis on cementitious materials.
• Ensure compliance with BS EN standards and local procedures.
• Review and input test data into LIMS.
• Input data into LIMS accurately and review data tracking reports.
• Work as part of a testing rota within the lab team.
• Maintain high levels of cleanliness of machines and equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and report near misses.
