Job summary

Talentmark are recruiting for a Laboratory Assistant to join a multinational consumer goods company at its site in Newcastle on a contract basis for 8 months. The role is fully site based and offers hands-on testing in a busy laboratory.

Salary is £13.30 per hour PAYE. You will weigh products, prepare formulations and perform tests, maintain lab housekeeping, and support test methods under defined procedures. Entitlement to work in the UK is essential and a DBS check may be required.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant scientific qualification.
• Experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Weighing product and making solutions.
• Preparation and testing of formulations, including preparation of products for consumer tests; physical and chemical analysis of formulations/products.
• Performing large or small-scale performance tests following defined test methods.
• General housekeeping and ensuring labs are kept appropriately according to operating procedures.
• Running mechanical equipment and computer-activated test methods.
