Job summary

TARRC in Hertfordshire invites applications for a Laboratory Technician Apprentice in the Materials Characterisation Unit. You will gain hands-on experience in microscopy labs while completing a Level 3 Apprenticeship. Starting salary is £19,000 per year.

The apprenticeship includes 26 days of annual leave, 35 hours per week, pension, and regular CPD opportunities. The role involves preparing samples, performing tests, maintaining equipment, recording results, and supporting day-to-day lab

Qualifications

• This Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship is targeted at entry-level candidates.
• Eligibility includes being 16 or older and UK resident for at least 3 years.
• Not currently in full-time education; prior related qualifications not required.

Responsibilities

• Preparing samples for testing and analysis.
• Carrying out laboratory tests following standard procedures or customer requirements.
• Helping to check and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Recording test results and keeping laboratory records up to date.
• Assisting with preparing test reports and supporting daily lab work.
• Keeping the laboratory clean, tidy and safe.
