Overview

We are seeking a Lab Technician for our Brooklyn Park, MN location. All applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with engineers and physicists to solve hardware, subsystem, and testbed problems
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and modification of R&D subassemblies (mechanical, optical, electronic, etc.) for trapped ion quantum computers in a clean room environment
  • Periodic maintenance of key technical infrastructure
  • Assist in construction and operation of cryogenic and ultra-high vacuum apparati, including cleaning with chemical solvents
  • Interface and coordinate with the facilities team to help manage maintenance and upgrades in lab spaces
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Associate’s degree or 5+ years of industry experience in an engineering or R&D environment required
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People\'s Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.

  • Degree in a Technology field strongly preferred (e.g. Electronics, Industrial Technology, Lasers and Optics, or Vacuum and Thin Film)

  • The ability to work from assembly drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, sketches and other written, visual and oral instructions
  • We provide on-the-job training but value prior experience with: Analog, digital, and RF electronic system assembly and troubleshooting, Optics, Ultra-high vacuum systems and procedures, Cryogenic systems, Object Oriented Programming (e.g., python), Working in a clean room environment & Mechanical assembly or light metal machining
  • Experience with facilities maintenance and coordination preferred
  • Ability to perform data collection and analysis using standard laboratory test equipment and mathematical software
  • Advanced degrees in relevant science and technology fields
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Compensation & Benefits

$60,000 - $90,000 a year

Non-Incentive Eligible

The pay range for this role is $60,000 – $90,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
