Job summary

A leading STEM recruitment specialist is seeking a Lab Technician with a strong Chemistry background to support product and process development. This full-time contract position in Southampton involves sample analysis, laboratory equipment calibration, and method development. Ideal candidates will have prior Lab Technician experience and good IT literacy, with hours set at 35 per week, Monday to Friday.

Our client, a leading player in the science sector, is currently seeking a Lab Technician to join their team on a contract basis. This role supports the product and process development lifecycle through quality assessment and the identification and validation of new methods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receiving, preparing, analysing, and reporting on samples
• Calibrating and operating laboratory equipment according to SOPs and methods, ensuring adherence to Best Laboratory Practice principles
• Developing and validating new methods and procedures as required
• Supporting the identification and validation of new methods for quality assessment

Job Requirements:

• Experience as a Lab Technician
• Desirable but not essential experience with Gas Chromatography (GC)
• Strong scientific background with bias towards Chemistry
• Good IT literacy
• Strong communication and time management skills

Additional Information:

This is a full-time contract role initially lasting until the end of the year, with a high likelihood of extension depending on work volumes. The working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
