Job summary

IQVIA MEU in Manchester is seeking a Lab Technician to support receipt, QC and storage of clinical specimens, maintain glassware, and assist the laboratory team in daily operations.

You will log and track samples, process biological specimens from clinical trials, manage storage and shipments, and perform pregnancy and drugs of abuse testing. A life sciences degree and 1 year of experience are required, with good English and MS Office skills; clinical research experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in life sciences or another relevant field.
• 1 year experience; recent graduates welcome.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment, quality control and validation procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Clinical research experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with receipt, QC and storage of clinical specimens.
• Maintain glassware; wash, rinse, dry, distribute and store glassware.
• Provide administrative and technical lab support.

Lab Technician Medicines Evaluation Unit (MEU) This role is office based in Manchester. Job Overview

Responsible for assisting with a variety of routine activities associated with receipt, QC, and storage of clinical specimens. Maintains glassware for the laboratory, washes, rinses, dries, distributes and stores glassware such as test tubes, beakers, flasks and cylinder. Provides administrative and technical support to the lab. Logging and tracking samples accurately and processing biological samples from clinical trials participants along with managing sample storage and shipments. Performing pregnancy & drugs of abuse testing. Preparing laboratory supplies for study visits and supporting the general organisation of study set up and smooth running of the laboratory.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in life sciences or another relevant field. 1 year experience, recent graduates welcome. Knowledge of laboratory equipment, quality control and validation procedures. Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Written and verbal communication skills including good command of English language. Clinical research experience preferred.
