Job description

Are you an experienced Technician who wears your passion for building great hardware products on your sleeve? Looking for a role within a close-knit team that will allow you to make an impact and support a range of cutting-edge technologies? This role might just be the perfect fit.


We're delighted to be working with one of Edinburgh's most exciting technology scale-ups as they continue their growth. Backed by more than a decade of development in the SATCOM and 5G markets, they are now looking to add another experienced technician to the team on a full-time, permanent basis.


The Role
As their Lab Technician, you'll be supporting the production of a range of high-quality hardware builds. You'll use your soldering techniques at the PCB level, using both through-hole and surface mount component techniques to IPC standards.


Working within the wider Operations team, you'll also be responsible for the inspection and modification of builds, helping to rework and debug faulty components when they arise.


Beyond this, you'll also get to conduct a range of tests and experiments in the lab, working closely with new products to ensure they're ready for production and shipping to customers.


The Location
This role is a full-time, permanent opportunity in Edinburgh. Their centrally-located office is only a 10-minute walk from Haymarket train station, placing it within easy access from Fife, West Lothian, East Lothian, Stirling, and Glasgow.


To thrive in this role, you will have:


  1. Excellent soldering skills, with a few years of electronic soldering experience under your belt.
  2. A HND/HNC in Electronics Engineering or similar would be great, however relevant experience in lieu would be considered.
  3. Strong analytical problem solving skills, with the ability to understand and resolve technical issues.
