Assists leadership in technical management. Acts as resource in absence of technical specialist (medical technologist) and is the first line of communication with medical personnel in the hospital and the community, requiring excellent telephone skills and a thorough knowledge of laboratory test terminology.
Certification in Phlebotomy, medical assistant, or nursing assistant or 2 years related experience in lieu of Certification
In addition, 1-2 years' work experience in patient care, or blood collection/handling, basic patient care or clinical skills such as managing patient records, administering injections, and assisting in minor medical procedures.
