Job summary

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking an Associate Scientist (12 Month FTC) to support project chemists and development teams at site-based facilities in Kent, UK.

The role focuses on laboratory-scale development, optimization, and characterization of drug substance routes, delivering data in compliance with cGxP standards. You will conduct bench-scale syntheses, work with analytical methods (HPLC, GC, MS) and maintain rigorous data records in ELN systems, while following safety guidelines and

Qualifications

• Essential: Higher qualification (HND, BSc, or equivalent) in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or closely related discipline.
• Desirable: MChem, MSc, or equivalent advanced coursework in synthetic organic chemistry, process chemistry, or analytical chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory Execution & Chemical Development: Conduct bench-scale chemical syntheses, process development experiments, and reaction profiling under guidance of senior scientists.
• Technique & Equipment Mastery: Demonstrate routine competency across standard and complex laboratory equipment.
• Hazard & Safety Management: Assess chemical hazards, adhere to COSHH guidelines, and handle hazardous materials safely at small scale.
• Analytical Characterization & Data Integrity: Support identification and characterization of products and impurities using standard spectrometric and chromatographic techniques.
