Job summary

Lonza in Slough, UK, seeks a Lab Informatics Engineer to shape the digital future of laboratory science. You will lead the implementation of ELN, LIMS and SDMS, build scalable data models, and connect lab platforms with analytics and cloud environments to accelerate research.

You will collaborate with scientists, automation engineers and IT specialists, delivering end-to-end digital solutions, documentation and training to drive adoption and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• MSc in a related scientific field required.
• Experience in pharma/biotech R&D environments.
• Hands-on lab informatics implementation or optimization.
• Strong data lifecycle knowledge and metadata handling.
• Experience with APIs (REST/GraphQL) and cloud tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation, configuration and optimization of lab informatics systems to enhance workflows.
• Partner with R&D scientists to translate experiments into scalable digital solutions.
• Design data models, metadata structures and workflows aligned with FAIR data principles.
• Build integrations between lab platforms, analytics tools and cloud environments.
• Develop data flows to improve interoperability and data quality; provide training and support.
