Job summary

TFP Fertility Group is seeking a Laboratory Assistant for a part-time position in Belfast. The role combines practical laboratory tasks with administrative duties, quality control, and patient communication.

Training will be provided through the TFP Training Scheme, with weekend rotations approximately every 1 in 3 weekends. Based in Northern Ireland, you will join a state-of-the-art IVF laboratory and contribute to ongoing quality and regulatory processes while developing in a learning-focused

Qualifications

• Minimum of A-Levels or equivalent, preferably a degree in Life Sciences
• Experience in a laboratory environment is preferable
• Good manual dexterity and careful workmanship
• Strong time management and communication abilities

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Assistant to join our team of dedicated scientists working in an IVF laboratory setting. Full training will be provided by our experienced embryologists, utilising the TFP Training Scheme framework. The role will involve a mix of practical laboratory tasks and administrative duties, along with quality control and patient communication.

This is a part-time role working 10 hours per week - weekend rotation will be required at approximately 1:3

The Location:

Belfast Fertility was established in 2013 and is Northern Ireland’s longest standing private IVF clinic. Due to the passion, expertise and reputation of our team, Belfast Fertility has grown and now performs approximately 500 fresh cycles and 400 frozen cycles per year. We offer a full suite of treatment and diagnostic services, including PGT. Conveniently located in a business park setting on the outskirts of Belfast, adjacent to J1 of the M2, there is ample free parking for staff & patients at the front of the building. Our state-of-the art laboratory was purpose built in 2013 and is equipped with the latest equipment and monitoring systems that support us in achieving excellent outcome KPI’s. Belfast Fertility was awarded Northern Irelands Fertility Clinic of the Year 2022 at the prestigious GHP Healthcare and Pharma awards and has a 5/5 inspection rating from the HFEA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of culture dishes, data entry, semen analysis/preparation, witnessing and traceability.

• Communicating with patients about their appointments and treatment cycle

• Assisting with quality control/quality assurance

• Monitoring/maintaining consumables, equipment and laboratory environment

• Regulatory Compliance

• Completing relevant TFP Training Scheme modules

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of A-Levels or equivalent, preferably a degree in Life Sciences

• Experience in a laboratory environment is preferable

• Good manual dexterity skills

• Must be self-motivated, eager to learn and have excellent time management skills.

• High level of attention to detailed and focused

Salary: Competitive (Depending on experience)
