Job summary

Barrington James is supporting a research organisation in Scotland to recruit a Laboratory Support Technician for a 3-month contract. You will work in the cage cleaning rooms, assisting with the cleaning, preparation and processing of cages and related equipment.

This role is ideal for someone reliable, hands-on and eager to learn, with good attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team. Full training will be provided to ensure a clean, safe and well-organised animal facility.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and follow established procedures
• Reliable and comfortable with hands-on, repetitive work
• Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Experience in animal facility or laboratory environment would be advantageous
• Autoclave experience would be a bonus

Responsibilities

• Support cage cleaning, preparation and processing of cages and equipment
• Work within the cage cleaning rooms of the unit
• Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised environment in the animal facility
• Full training will be provided to gain experience in a research or animal facility environment
