Aims and Purpose of the Job

As a Tax Assistant Apprentice, you will support the firm’s Tax department to ensure all HMRC deadlines are met for clients. Your responsibilities include preparing and submitting Self Assessment tax returns, checking tax repayments, and reconciling differences with calculations. You will undertake and complete a Level 4 Taxation Technician qualification to deepen your knowledge of professional tax services.

About The Apprenticeship

During your apprenticeship, you will study for the Association of Taxation Technicians qualification and, upon completion, become a member of the association. The training is delivered online, covering personal tax, business tax, ethics, and law.

You will be assessed via an end-point assessment, including a case study and a portfolio demonstrating your learning. Successful completion may lead to a Level 7 Taxation Professional apprenticeship, involving studying for Chartered Institute of Taxation exams. You will gain further skills through practical work, online training, self-study, and tax courses.
