Job summary

Academics is seeking a proactive L2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school community in Birkenhead. You will support the class teacher and pupils across literacy, numeracy and foundation lessons, with a focus on pupils needing additional learning or physical needs.

The role offers £95–£105 per day, a DBS check, and opportunities for professional development; prior experience in primary or SEN settings is preferred, and an Enhanced DBS is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to process a new one.
• Experience in primary or SEN settings preferred.
• Calm, empathetic approach with good communication and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Targeted Classroom Support during literacy, numeracy and foundation lessons.
• SEN & Inclusion: tailored strategies for pupils needing extra support.
• Classroom Management: maintain a safe, organized and encouraging environment.
