Overview
The Marketing Manager role will support the Family Snacks Marketing Director to lead and deliver the growth plans for all extruded, frypack & value brands worth a third of the overall snacks business in the UK: Wotsits, Quavers, Monster Munch, Cheetos, Squares, French Fries, Frazzles, Chipsticks, Bugles, Scampi Fries, Bacon Fries & Smiths. This will include portfolio management, renovation, innovation and creative development. The role will work closely with Insights to deliver most relevant and compelling portfolio; Sales to build the most compelling plans in store; Creative agencies & TCP to deliver effective media & creative campaigns; Supply to optimise service & futureproof our manufacturing capability and NRM teams to maximise effectiveness of portfolio. The MM will need to deliver plans that increased penetration, net revenue growth, and SOM while making optimal use of the A&M resources. The role will report to the newly formed Family Snacks Marketing Director.
Responsibilities
- In partnership with the MD, set the strategy and 3-5 Year plans for the portfolio of brands that delivers YOY growth (including the acceleration of Wotsits and building the right support model for the rest of the snacks brands)
- Develop strong in year calendar plan, across renovation, innovation, activation & packaging updates
- Lead and coach the team to deliver strong execution plans to achieve the in-year commercial plan
- Raise the bar on creative through high levels of collaboration with internal & external agency partners
- Partner with the breakthrough innovation & R&D teams to develop a strong long time innovation pipeline
- Build a high performing & engaged team. Support the team with personal development
- Be the expert on performance of the brand, coaching the team on delivering brand tracking and identifying interventions
- Engage the sales team, including sales conference & brand sells
Qualifications
- In depth brand marketing experience gained in consumer business, preferably within FMCG / CPG
- Strong functional Marketing experience, managing complex portfolio & large scale campaigns
- Strong project management skills, evidenced through key X-functional projects
- Strong capability in understanding consumer insight & generating ideas
- Experience in developing strong partnerships with multiple stakeholders frequently with competing priorities
- Experience in developing and launching successful innovations

- Extensive experience in complex, multi-stakeholder organization – but with clear accountability for portfolio growth
- Strong Strategic Thinking - developing strategy through consumer data sources to identify opportunities for the business – eg Portfolio architecture development, demand spaces mapping etc
- High level of commercial acumen, and experience engaging with sales teams at all levels
- Leading team to create plans from strategy that can be executed in market
- Interpreting consumer insights to develop hypotheses to grow business
- Leading and inspiring internal teams
