L/S Equity Analyst (EU Generalist) – Boutique Hedge Fund, London

We have recently been instructed by a boutique hedge fund, who are looking to expand their investment team with the addition of an equity analyst.

The group adopt a value-oriented investment philosophy and currently oversee $800mn in AUM deployed across a concentrated European equities portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct thorough financial analysis and build robust financial models to identify investment opportunities
2. Perform detailed company research, including analysis of financial statements, business models, and competitive landscapes
3. Present well-researched investment ideas to the team
4. Monitor existing portfolio positions and industry trends
5. Collaborate with team members in a flat organizational structure

Required Qualifications

1. 2-5 years of investment analysis experience (buy-side or sell-side)
2. Strong financial modelling skills and fundamental analysis capabilities
3. Solid understanding of accounting principles
4. Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn across multiple sectors
5. Critical thinking and ability to develop independent investment theses
