Purpose

HR's mission is to fuel the center of Vanguard's flywheel by enabling thriving crew, an inclusive culture, and lasting client impact. As Learning and Development Manager you will have an outsized impact on the success of our mission in Europe. In this role you will own the all crew learning curriculum in addition to driving the success of a number of development initiatives including our "Leadership Excellence" program. You will provide tools and frameworks to measure and increase performance, as well as coach and mentor individuals and teams.

We have ambitious plans to develop the European Talent function, evolving our services, tools and product offerings to support our growing, dynamic business. As Learning and Development Manager you will play a critical part of that service evolution. You will have vision and optimism, and love helping others to learn and grow in their roles.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the Emerging Leaders Development Program (ELDP). This includes interviewing for the program, soliciting rotation opportunities and providing ongoing coaching and support to participants during rotations.
  • In partnership with the Enterprise learning team, design the learning strategy and curriculum for crew and leadership development that supports our business strategy, values and performance culture.
  • Partner and collaborate with senior leaders and HR Business Partners to identify and address current and future capabilities and L&D needs.
  • Equip our leaders with the tools they need to help their teams fulfil their potential (including performance management and inclusive leadership)
  • Establish KPI's to measure the effectiveness, impact and ROI of learning and development initiatives, using these insights to iterate and improve initiatives.
  • Support with Talent initiatives such as succession planning and talent review process.
  • Ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Exceptional communicator (written, verbal, presentation).
  • Dynamic facilitator, able to engage audiences.
  • Experienced L&D / Talent professional with a proven track record of success
  • Able to build strong relationships, earning trust through understanding diverse perspectives and following through on commitments.
  • Evidence of effective coaching and people development.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills, working seamlessly with parties across functions, levels, and locations, using a range of influencing skills alongside flexibility in seeing solutions to learning, development, culture and engagement challenges faced by the business.
  • Disciplined executor, able to maintain focus on the initiatives that will yield the greatest impact.
  • Understanding of our business model and investment acumen preferred.
