Job Description:
About the role
The successful candidate will join the global infrastructure team and will be responsible for developing the Kubernetes platform that supports the firm's evolving technology stack. Looking for a highly skilled Lead Kubernetes Engineer to architect, build, and lead the deployment and operation of scalable, secure, and high-performance Kubernetes environments. You will play a key role in designing container orchestration platforms, implementing GitOps workflows, mentoring team members, and driving best practices across the infrastructure and DevOps functions.
Requirements
- You will design and lead the implementation of Kubernetes clusters (on-prem and/or cloud) with high availability, scalability, and security.
- You will offer Kubernetes as a product to internal teams by delivering self-service capabilities (namespace provisioning, templated jobs, onboarding flows).
- You will build reusable platform patterns and deployment blueprints using Helm, Kustomize, or custom controllers.
- You will develop and maintain platform-aware GitOps workflows using tools like ArgoCD, Flux, and GitLab CI.
- You will have proven experience designing and operating production-grade Kubernetes environments (EKS, AKS, GKE, or bare-metal).
- You will have a deep understanding of Kubernetes internals, including control plane components, CRDs, CNI, and storage provisioning.
- You will have a deep understanding of container security, admission controllers, and policy enforcement tools (OPA/Gatekeeper).
- You will implement RBAC, network policies, secrets management, and ensure platform compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- You will partner with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to enable multi-tenant, production-grade container platforms.
- You will lead incident response and post-mortem analysis related to Kubernetes and container platform outages.
- You will manage CI/CD integration with container workflows using GitOps or pipelines (ArgoCD, Flux, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- You will mentor and guide junior Kubernetes and platform engineers, fostering a strong engineering culture.
- You will have deep knowledge of DevOps tooling, including Terraform/Ansible, and demonstrate use of CI/CD technologies, such as Github, Jenkins, or Gitlab.
- You will have strong knowledge of Python, Golang, or similar programming and scripting languages.
- You will have deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies, with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds.
- You will stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure infrastructure automation and DevOps practices remain cutting-edge.
- As a senior engineering leader, you will partner closely with research and other infrastructure engineering teams, working in a highly collaborative manner.
Whilst we carefully review all applications, due to the high volume of applications we receive, it is not possible to respond to those who have not been successful.
