Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is assisting a well-regarded secondary school in Brentwood, Essex to appoint a KS5 Maths Lead from January. The role focuses on leading post-16 Mathematics, developing teaching and learning and raising student attainment in A-level Maths.

You will coordinate curriculum planning, assessment, data review and support colleagues to deliver high-quality lessons. Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Mathematics Teacher with QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching A-level Mathematics at KS5.
• Strong subject knowledge and understanding of post-16 examination requirements.
• Experience of curriculum planning, assessment and monitoring student progress.
• Ability to lead colleagues, coordinate improvement strategies and promote high standards.
• Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills.
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead post-16 Mathematics provision and support excellent teaching, learning and student achievement.
• Coordinate curriculum planning, assessment practices and use performance data to identify improvements.
• Review schemes of work and share effective teaching strategies with colleagues.
• Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations.
• Support students who require additional help while providing stretch for high-attaining mathematicians.
• Demonstrate effective leadership and contribute to post-16 curriculum development.
