KS3/4 Chemistry Specialist – April 2025 start

Prospero Teaching is looking for a Chemistry teacher for an Ofsted Good Secondary school in Bury. You will be responsible for teaching Chemistry to KS4 groups (including Year 11), and General Science to both KS3 and KS4. This timetable would be suitable for an ECT looking for support with their Induction terms, or a more experienced colleague seeking a long-term supply booking.

Our school is easily accessible by road (M60, M61, M62, M66), making this position ideal for colleagues based in Greater Manchester, Lancashire, or West Yorkshire. There are strong public transport links as well.

The behaviour at the school is generally positive, with isolated issues managed by a proactive “on call” team experienced in pastoral matters. Several long-term colleagues feel supported and welcomed in the school community.

This role is open to NQTs/ECTs and more experienced teachers. You will be paid on scale from day one of this assignment, and we are available to discuss this role with teaching professionals as soon as possible.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Chemistry or similar graduate, with a 2:2 or higher
• UK Qualified Teacher Status is essential for this role
• Previous experience working in a UK school
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references
