Job summary

PK Education is recruiting a qualified Primary Teacher for a full-time Year 5/6 maternity cover at a primary school in the Wakefield area, starting after October half-term 2026 and continuing through Easter 2027.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 5/6 class, deliver lessons, assess progress and manage day-to-day class routines. Experience in KS2 with Year 5/6 is preferred; strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills are essential.

Qualifications

• QTS and KS2 experience, ideally Year 5 and/or Year 6.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to establish clear routines and expectations.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Availability for a full-time commitment through Easter 2027.

Responsibilities

• Teach a Year 5/6 class and deliver lessons.
