Job summary

Tithe Barn Primary School in Stockport is seeking a KS2 Teaching Assistant to support groups and individuals across KS2 with a focus on phonics and SEND. You will work closely with teachers to deliver targeted interventions and promote a positive school ethos.

The role is term-time only, 27.5 hours per week, fixed term until 31 August 2027, with pro rata salary (£16,234–£16,522). The successful candidate will join a caring, inclusive community that values every pupil.

Qualifications

• Has prior experience and is knowledgeable on how to effectively support the development of a child.
• Possesses good knowledge of phonics and how to deliver effective phonics interventions.
• Understands how children learn and has a range of strategies to engage pupils in their learning.
• Good behaviour management skills.
• Is flexible and able to adapt to the needs of different year groups and pupils.
• Effective communication skills.
• Experience of being a team player.
• Is passionate about ensuring SEND pupils make excellent progress.

Responsibilities

• Supporting groups and individuals with their learning across KS2.
• Working flexibly across all year groups within KS2.
• Collaborating closely with class teachers and colleagues from across the school.
• Delivering targeted interventions, including phonics support.
• Supporting pupils with SEND to make progress both academically and pastorally.
• Promoting the school's ethos and values in all aspects of work.
