Job description

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary team from May 2025.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with class teachers, supporting children across Key Stage 2 to achieve their best in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

Duties as a KS2 Teaching Assistant:

• Support teaching and learning across the KS2 curriculum, including English, maths, and topic work.

• Assist with classroom preparation, organisation, and display.

• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and provide targeted intervention.

• Support the behaviour and emotional wellbeing of pupils in line with school policy.

• Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress.

• Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.

• Support enrichment activities, trips, and wider school events as needed.

Ideal KS2 Teaching Assistant:

• Have experience working with children, ideally in a KS2 setting.

• Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) – desirable.

• Be confident supporting learning in core subjects.

• Demonstrate patience, enthusiasm, and strong communication skills as a KS2 Teaching Assistant.

• Be flexible, reliable, and a proactive team player.

• Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
