Lancashire County Council is seeking an experienced Year 5 Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Coppull. The role involves general classroom support and targeted help for SEND and EAL students, including one with an EHCP, within a KS2 setting.

The position is initially mornings until 1:15pm with a trial period, offering a pathway to ongoing employment. The successful candidate will settle in quickly, build strong relationships, and uphold a high standard of support.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school.
  • Strong communication and literacy skills, with confidence supporting pupils with English, including those with EAL and SEND.
  • A good understanding of the primary curriculum, ideally with experience supporting KS2.
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Confidence working with individuals and small groups.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to use initiative within the classroom.
  • A calm, professional and reliable manner.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with both pupils and staff.
  • The ability to quickly adapt and become a valuable member of the school team.

Responsabilités

Summary We are working with a warm and welcoming primary school who are seeking an experienced Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. The school is looking to initially trial the right person, with the opportunity for the role to become an ongoing position working every morning until 1:15pm.

This is a lovely Year 5 class with excellent behaviour and a positive learning environment. The successful Teaching Assistant will provide general classroom support alongside targeted support for pupils with SEND and EAL needs, including one child with an EHCP. With upcoming CSI and Ofsted inspections, the school is looking for a confident and capable TA who can quickly settle into the classroom and provide a consistently high standard of support.
