Job summary

Haberdashers' Abraham Darby is seeking an inspirational and dynamic Year 6 teacher to bridge gaps in pupils' knowledge and support their transition into mainstream education. You will enthuse and motivate learners, deliver engaging and creative lessons, and uphold high standards of achievement and behaviour within a nurturing environment.

The role offers opportunities to contribute to the wider life of the Academy and to develop leadership skills as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching Year 6 in primary education.
  • Ability to plan targeted interventions to close gaps.
  • Strong behaviour management and safeguarding commitments.

An increasing number of pupils are finding the transitionfrom primary school to secondary school challenging. For some it is the movefrom small nurture group provision to being in a class of 15-30, for othersthey have arrived with extensive ‘Covid’ knowledge gaps which have beendifficult to close, whilst for others it is ‘factors beyond their control’. We are thereforeseeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic primary school teacher, withspecific experience of Year 6 teaching to help to bridgethose gaps with focused interventions that empower pupils to successfullyintegrate into mainstream education.

We are looking to appointa colleague who will:
