KS2 Teacher (Maternity Cover) St Albans
Salary: £33,000 £45,000 (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (Maternity Cover)
Start Date: September 2025 (earlier start possible for the right candidate)
We are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-respected primary school in St Albans, known for its inclusive ethos and strong community values. The school maintains high academic standards while fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for pupils and staff alike.
They are currently seeking a dedicated KS2 Teacher to cover a maternity leave starting this September. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to join a collaborative team and make a meaningful impact during a pivotal stage in pupils academic journey.
The Role:As the KS2 Maternity Cover Teacher, you will take full responsibility for a Key Stage 2 class, planning and delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons that inspire and challenge all learners. You will be expected to contribute to the wider school life, including assessment, pastoral care, and extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities:Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum
Assess pupil progress regularly and use data to inform teaching
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
Foster strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
Contribute to the school s ethos and extracurricular offerings
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning outcomes
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Proven experience teaching within Key Stage 2
Strong understanding of the KS2 national curriculum
Ability to differentiate effectively to support all learners
Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
